Our Mission.

Since its founding in 1969, the Sunset Park Redevelopment Committee Inc. (SPRC) has been committed to revitalizing and preserving the Sunset Park community through sustainable development, affordable housing, and energy conservation initiatives.

Rooted in a legacy of collaboration among business, religious, and social leaders, SPRC has led efforts to provide safe, affordable housing and improve the quality of life for low- and moderate-income residents. From the renovation of single-family homes and multifamily dwellings to the management of over 2,000 Section 8 units, our work has stabilized housing and strengthened neighborhoods.

Through decades of service, SPRC has embraced innovation and equity; leveraging programs like the Small Homes Improvement Program, Project-Based Section 8, Weatherization Assistance Program, ARRA, ARPA, and BIL, to combat disrepair, reduce carbon emissions, and improve energy efficiency in housing.

Our mission is to continue building a stronger, more resilient Sunset Park by promoting affordable housing, advancing environmental awareness, and empowering residents through thoughtful redevelopment and long-term community partnerships.
